ABOUT FLITELINE
Fliteline was established in Fort Smith, Arkansas in 1948 by a former WWII fighter pilot who proclaimed our engines to be " as good as anything on the fliteline", and so our name was born. Through the years we have become the oldest and largest production engine remanufacturer in Arkansas with locations in Fort Smith, Arkansas and Little Rock, Arkansas.
Fliteline offers remanufactured short blocks, cylinder heads, long blocks and a complete line of internal engine parts and components. We offer parts from the finest OEM engine parts manufacturers such as FELPRO, MELLING, VICTOR, FEDERAL MOGUL, HASTINGS, SBI, MAHLE CLEVITE, DART PERFORMANCE and many other major brands. We offer competitive pricing and warranties on all our products and services.
Fliteline ships worldwide with competitive shipping rates. In most cases our prices do not carry a core charge thereby reducing your costs. In some cases a core return is requested with which we provide return shipping.
The Remanufacturing Process:
Cleaning and inspection:
Our remanufacturing process begins with a complete disassembly of the engine core including oil galley and expansion (freeze) plugs. Castings are oven baked to turn all grease, paint, and sludge to ash. Each cast iron component is then shot blasted to remove the ash residue and magnafluxed for cracks. Aluminum cylinder heads are shot blasted and pressure tested for cracks.
After passing inspection each component is moved to its respective department for precision machining. Once the component is machined they are passed thru a second cleaning process to remove fine particles and machining oils and re-inspected for final assembly.
Components machined:
Blocks: Bored, honed and lifter holes de-burred, align bored where necessary, decks surfaced
Crankshafts: Straightened, welded when necessary, precision ground and polished
Camshafts: Reground or polished or replaced with new
Connecting rods: Straightened and resized
Cylinder Heads: All new guides, 3 angle cuts on valve seats, valve stems and faces ground or replaced, new valve seals and shims (where applicable), springs tested and replaced where necessary, and surfaced.
Final Assembly:
Our build department gathers the necessary components for a complete assembly and re-inspects machined tolerances for correct sizes. Engines are assembled using correct torque procedures. At this point all moving components have been either machined or replaced.
All remanufactured short block engines receive the following new replacement parts:
Main, Rod and Cam Bearings (when in block)
Timing sets (in most cases)
Camshafts (re-machined or new) (when in block)
Pistons and Piston Rings
Oil Galley and Expansion (freeze) Plugs
Rear seals (where applicable)
Remanufactured Long block assemblies include:
Remanufactured Short Block
Remanufactured Cylinder Head(s) installed
Push Rods (where applicable) installed
Rocker Arms (installed)
Lifters (installed)
Long Block Gasket Set
Oil Pump (or Kit)

All Remanufactured Long Block Engines are SIMM tested for correct oil pressure, oil flow and amperage (to check tolerances)
